Hannah Àjàlá is a multiple award-winning journalist whose work spans globally recognised podcasts and years of on‑the‑ground reporting across dozens of African countries. Her storytelling centres real lives and lived experiences, with a strong focus on a range of topics like women’s empowerment, politics, culture and the arts, fashion and music, current affairs, and true crime. She is deeply committed to spotlighting stories from communities that are too often misrepresented or overlooked, bringing nuance, dignity, and humanity to every narrative she tells.

She is also the founder of We Are Black Journos, an events, community and networking platform dedicated to connecting, supporting, and celebrating Black journalists. Motivated by the stark reality that Black journalists make up less than 5% of the UK industry, Hannah set out to create a safe, empowering space where they could thrive. Since launching in 2018, We Are Black Journos has gained widespread recognition and partnered with several respected news organisations. With a rapidly growing community and network of supporters, Hannah is excited to continue expanding its reach and impact.
