Simon Higgins is a London-based Casting Director working across film and television in the UK and internationally.
After beginning his career as an actor, Simon spent several years honing his craft alongside acclaimed Casting Directors Dan Hubbard CDG CSA and Olivia Scott-Webb CDG CSA, playing an integral role in shaping the casts of some of the industry's most prestigious studio features and premium television productions.
His work includes Neil Forsyth's Netflix series Legends, Richard Linklater's Academy Award-nominated Blue Moon, Netflix's My Oxford Year, BBC drama The Gold (Series 2), Amazon's Jack Ryan: Ghost War, and Guy Ritchie's In the Grey and Fountain of Youth.
Drawing on almost a decade of experience as an actor, Simon brings a unique perspective to the casting process, combining a deep understanding of performers with a collaborative, relatable, human-led approach.
Since launching his own casting office, Simon has built a varied body of work, working with both emerging and established filmmakers to find the right actors to tell their stories.
Recent projects include Death and the Penguin, directed by Oscar/BAFTA-nominated, Golden Globe-winning filmmaker Ari Folman; the sequel to Villain for Sharp House Productions; Eddie Is Box, the debut feature from acclaimed commercial director Scott Lyon; and Tidepools, directed by Marius D'Gasco, with whom he is currently collaborating on a second feature.
Alongside his feature work, Simon has built an extensive body of short films, working with award-winning filmmakers emerging from the National Film and Television School as well as a range of established and emerging independent directors & producers. His commercial work includes campaigns for Disney, Sky Vegas and the charity I Choose Freedom.
